Classes

Classes are held weekly and we run short courses every few months on a range of specialised subjects. A growing library is there to inspire the mind while the kitchen is a place to sit and share ideas over tea and coffee.

Beginner or experienced, each person works at their own pace and pursues their specific interest rather than following strictly set out themes. Members are encouraged and helped with developing their ideas and designs into reality and inspiring others in the process.

The workshop has a very good selection of equipment. Members do not need to invest in any tools but most people can't resist acquiring a small toolbox. Generally it is not long before it is filled with at least some small tools, bits of silver, solder, wire, drawings etc.

There is also a small library. Books on technical skills and design may be borrowed. The walls are adorned with images of jewellery and silverware. IT and printer facilities are available.

A small kitchen adjoins the benchroom with a microwave and a small fridge, tea and coffee and a steady supply of cake and biscuits.

Members' Work

The images below illustrate what people who come to classes at The Silver Workbench have achieved.
